For my Bachelor’s thesis, I developed a booklet containing guidelines for product designers that supports circularity in products that contain adhesives and sealants. Seperation of product parts is often difficult after the use of these substances, making it harder to reuse these parts. By implementing the right techniques during the design phase, products containing adhesives and sealants can be disassembled to an extend.
The design guide focuses on design for disassembly and is divided into five categories: connections, product architecture, access, disassembly sequence and modularity. Each of these categories include multiple design techniques with a visual representation.

This design guide was developed on behalf of VLK, the trade association for adhesives and sealants in the Netherlands. I also helped multiple organisations with the implementation of the guidelines in their industry after the booklet has been released, which I very much enjoyed.
